If we've learned anything from the past several years, it's that a tweet has the power to make a big impact on the global community. However, this time we're not referring to one of Trump's late night declarations, instead we're focusing on a tweet that proves that gay shaming is still alive and well. On August 6th, Samantha Heaton, a waitress from Rockford Illinois, shared a photo with friend Joelle Nicole Maish, which was soon published to Twitter. The tweet features a receipt that Heaton received from Buffalo Wild Wilds, where she has worked for over two years, and a not-so-nice comment from a customer who denied Heaton gratuity. Instead of tipping her server, the customer chose to respond to Heaton's pride tattoo with a homophobic remark written on the restaurant copy of the receipt.
"Can't tip someone who doesn't love Jesus! Bad tatoo [sic]," was what the customer left as a tip for Heaton and we still cannot believe that this happened in 2017.
